Virginia Beach DUI Attorney: Young Child Wanders the City Due to DUI Mom

By Christopher Beachum

The police recently found a 3 and 5 year old little boy and girl wandering the streets. The police started a man hunt attempting to find the children's parents. Putting two and two together they found out the infants lived nearly two miles away. When returning home the police were greeted with their drunken mother at the wheel of their minivan in the driveway idling.

When questioned their mother stated that she was on her way to pick up her older kids from school. The older kids waited, but decided to walk to a nearby relatives house and called the police because this was unusual of their mom. Around the same time a great civilian saved the two younger children who were wondering from a busy street way. The civilian asked why they were out by themselves and they said because they are looking for their siblings.

Back to the mother, obviously drunk denies completely the allegations of her DUI, and refuses to take a sobriety test. For the most case all you have to do to get a DUI is be in operation of a vehicle while under the influence you do not need to be driving and this was the mothers case. She was arrested and taken downtown.

The punishment for the mother was harsh. She was convicted of both child neglect and DUI. She had previously never gotten any legal trouble not even a parking ticket! She was ordered to AA, suspended license, and could never drive her children again. The judge took a personal note to this case and stated that the mother was a loaded gun to not only her kids but the general public. He personally called child services to have the mothers home inspected to see if it was fit for her kids.

What this mother did may be wrong and inexcusable, but she didn't deserve to have her kids taken. You may be facing a DUI situation. Apologizes are not enough to protect you from the court rooms decisions. Protect your future, and potentially the future of your loved ones by hiring a Virginia Beach DUI attorney and defending yourself in court. - 31397
